Our Instructors

Steve Gladstone, ACI is the Director of the New England School of Home Inspection and the Owner/President of Stonehollow, Inc. Fine Home Inspections. He was the American Society of Home Inspector’s National 2004 President and sat on the National Board of Directors for over 11 years. He is a Contributor and Editor to various National Publications. He was the recipient of ASHI’s highest award “The Philip Monahan Award” along with the Canadian Association of Home and Property Inspectors highest award “The Michael Ludolph Award” He has been a home inspector since 1983 and a member of ASHI since 1986. He teaches continuing education classes for realtors, appraisers and home inspectors and is a highly respected lecturer and radio personality. His book, The Graphic Standards Field Guide For Home Inspection is a comprehensive reference tool to inspectors.  Steve has been Managing Instructor and Campus Director for The ASHI School, Casey O’Malley & Associates, Kaplan Professional Schools and Inspection Training Associates. While the names of the school have changed, the curriculum we follow remains the most comprehensive and organized path for new inspectors to follow. Steve has his Masters and 6th year degrees in Education. Potential students should call Steve with any questions about classes or financial issues.

Naoki Hirabayashi, ACI is a CT licensed ASHI Home inspector servicing the Fairfield and New Haven Counties. Naoki has worked with Steve over the past 6 years first as an apprentice and then as a licensed home inspector and now as an ASHI certified inspector. He specializes in residential home inspections, providing detailed reports. Naoki has a knack for attention to detail as he uncovers the full story behind each home he inspects. Naoki has a strong focus on servicing the customer and providing the information to make an educated decision in regards to the property purchase.

Dean Pedon, ACI is a licensed CT ASHI home inspector servicing the Fairfield and New Haven Counties. Dean has worked with Steve over the past 4 years as an apprentice and then as a licensed home inspector. Dean has a bachelors in Business Administration and was an IT Director before joining the School. He is not only a knowledgeable inspector but brings strong operational, analytical, and financial experience. He specializes in residential home inspections, communicating effectively to clients and providing detailed reports.

Matthew Gladstone,  has been a CT Licensed home inspector for over 18 years working for Stonehollow Fine Home Inspections of Stamford, CT.  Matt has completed well over 1700 inspections…and still counting.  He graduated from the Inspection Training Associates / Kaplan Professional School in West Redding.  Matt has taught home inspection for Kaplan Professional Schools, Casey-O’Malley Associates and The ASHI School. Matt is fluent in Spanish and served as a Lieutenant in his local volunteer fire department and a proud father of two children.

Alden Gibson, RHI, ACI, NCH is Principal of Inspections by Gibson and has been performing home inspections since 1992 after completing the Home Inspections Training Program with Inspection Training Associates. He began his career in 1981 performing home renovations and moved on to custom home construction in 1987. In 1992, Alden began performing home inspections with The Home Inspector and in 1996, formed his own company. As a Registered Home Inspector (RHI) ASHI Certified Inspector and National Certificate Holder, he conducts an average of 300 to 350 home inspections per year. He is knowledgeable and up to date on current building code. Alden has completed the Residential Indoor Air Quality investigator program through the CMHC and is certified as Radon Measurement Expert through NEHA (National Environmental Health Association) NRPP (National Radon Proficiency Program). He is a founding member of CARST (Canadian Association of Radon Scientists and Technologists) and a Level 1 Thermographer, CAHPI New Construction Inspector. Alden is an active member of the Ontario Association of Home Inspectors (OAHI), the Canadian Association of Home & Property Inspectors, Ontario (CAHPI ON), the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI) 2015 President of ASHI, and the Wood Energy Technology Transfer (WETT) and is an Associate Member of the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians & Technologists (OACETT). He has held many executive positions with the Ontario Association of Home Inspectors (OAHI) and the Board of Directors for the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI). Further, he is a member of the Kitchener Waterloo Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Better Business Bureau also a Founding member of The Canadian Association of Radon Scientists and Technologists CARST In 2005, Alden was recognized with the President’s Award from the Canadian Association of Home and Property Inspectors and in 2002, he was given the President’s Award from the Ontario Association of Home Inspectors. He has also received a Special Service Award from ASHI in 2004 also in 2008 and also a Special Recognition Award from OAHI in 2003 for efforts and dedication to the associations. In 2012 he received the Innovation Award & Customer Service Excellence Award from Mike Holmes Inspections. In the last 25 years, Alden has lectured extensively for several municipal real estate boards and real estate sales offices, at colleges and for the Ontario Association of Home Inspectors on various subjects relating to home inspections. He also has several years experience as an instructor for both the OAHI and the CAHPI. Alden is a facilitator for the Ontario Building Code Courses as well as the Defect Recognition Course and taught the Home Inspection Courses at Conestoga College for 14 years.
